“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”
If you are a school wanting to join our collaborative alliance of schools please contact bluecoatscitt@bluecoat.uk.com or call 0115 9007230
We value the wealth of expertise in the region, and are always looking to extend our teacher training provision and school partnership in order to do so.
Our ambitious Curriculum ensures trainees are best-prepared for their school placement, and career in teaching developing the curriculum.
What is our Partnership Offer? A partnership with Bluecoat SCITT Alliance is a time-limited arrangement, allowing schools to contribute to the partnership as their capacity dictates, with no obligation for any long term commitment, but being able to access the benefits afforded by Bluecoat SCITT Alliance, and Archway Learning Trust.
Our Partnership offer is a true collaborative partnership that aims to enhance the life chances of young people by providing well-trained teachers.
We have a long history of working collaboratively with both local primary and secondary schools, who ALL bring a uniqueness and richness of expertise to our curriculum.
- serving a wide range of diverse communities
- having a special accreditation (“world class” school, excellent SIAMS CoE school)
- are some of the largest secondary schools with a sixth form or some of the smallest primary schools
We work with a diverse range of schools and we really believe our partnership is special!
As a member of our partnership this will include;
- Primary Phase and Specialist Lead supporting mentors and trainees
- Secondary Phase Lead supporting mentors and trainees
- Secondary Subject Specialist Lead supporting mentors and trainees
- Additional support for new mentors where necessary
- Financial contribution to support each school placement
- Collaboration by offering CPL opportunities for experienced school staff to deliver subject specific content
- Free attendance at the Archway Learning Trust Annual Festival of Learning
- Teacher educator training for mentors
In return we ask our partnership members to;
- Host a trainee for a main placement across the full academic year, including a possible second placement rotation swap later in the year
- Contribute to the success and delivery of the Bluecoat SCITT Alliance curriculum by signing a Partnership Agreement
“Communication between SCITT leaders and partnership schools is strong. Centre-based training and trainees’ school experiences are closely aligned. School-based mentors are skilled professionals. They are familiar with the course content and know how to help trainees develop their knowledge and practice” Ofsted 2023
“Because our school places a huge emphasis on developing our staff to allow them to grow into excellent practitioners, we place enormous value in genuine support and challenge. We expect a lot from those we partner with. Therefore I can honestly say that having enjoyed a long and varied history of working closely with many different ITT providers our best experiences and outcomes often come from working in partnership with the Bluecoat SCITT.
So, why does Bluecoat SCITT stand out from the crowd? One reason: they absolutely share and live out a similar set of values to our own and therefore I trust them implicitly to do the very best by their trainees. What else? They work with integrity and care deeply about the trainees they develop. They recognise and respond to the bespoke needs of each of their trainee teachers – knowing each of them inside and out; they have extremely high standards in terms of their Friday pedagogy delivery – expecting excellence from their subject specialists. Their organisation and communication is exceptional – they respond promptly and with detail – nothing is ever too much trouble. As a very busy ITT co-ordinator and long-time mentor, I know that any query will be answered and informed and expert advice will be given. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Bluecoat SCITT as an institution for teacher training” – Partnership School feedback
